Carbon footprint reduced by more than 60% compared with conventional process! TISCO's three types of low-carbon stainless steel products passed the on-site audit of Süd.

Recently, Taiyuan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. (TISCO) made significant advancements in promoting low-carbon stainless steel products. The SUS304/304, SUS316L/316L austenitic stainless steel cold-rolled strips/precision strips, and SUS430LX ultra-pure ferritic stainless steel cold-rolled strips successfully passed the on-site carbon footprint audit by TÜV SÜD, reducing their carbon footprint by over 60% compared to conventional processes. The overall lifecycle carbon emissions of these products are significantly better than those of domestic and international peers. These stainless steel varieties are noted for their excellent corrosion resistance, formability, and weldability, and are extensively used in the electronics, information technology, and home appliance manufacturing industries. TISCO has been focusing on these sectors for many years, delivering products of superior quality and stable performance.

In recent years, TISCO has earnestly implemented the national "dual carbon" strategy and the carbon reduction mandates of the Baowu Group, accelerating the research and promotion of low-carbon products. The company has developed a comprehensive approach to low-carbon products in four major categories: telecommunications, kitchenware, home appliances, and automotive exhaust systems. This approach includes designing product process routes, matching scrap steel with green energy resources, trial production, external certification, and targeting end customers, gradually establishing a branded and diversified range of TISCO low-carbon products and striving to achieve a certain market scale.

The successful audit marks TISCO's enhanced competitiveness in international markets, particularly in regions like the European Union, which are adjusting carbon tariff policies on steel products. TISCO is committed to leveraging its role as a leader in technical innovation, actively exploring, mastering, and breaking through core green low-carbon metallurgical technologies in the stainless steel sector. The company aims to build a "green manufacturing, manufacturing green" circular low-carbon development system, further develop a series of stainless steel low-carbon products, and achieve comprehensive green and low-carbon leadership throughout the production and downstream usage phases of stainless steel.
